Hello Tenants! In light of having such awesome followers, we at Electric Basement have decided that we want to give back to you Tenants. We currently have two extra tickets to the Skrillex show featuring 12th Planet and Nadastrom at Koolhaus (Guvernment) on October 15th, 2011. We want to award one lucky individual (and his/her friend) who did not get a chance to purchase tickets with the opportunity to see Skrillex in action.
The draw will take place on October 5th, 2011, after which we will contact the winning individual to let them know that they and a friend are going to see Skrillex. To enter yourself into this draw, simply follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr to effectively be entered into our draw up to 3 TIMES (I REPEAT: THREE TIMES). There are a few limitations to this draw:
1) You MUST be able to pickup the ticket at the venue (Koolhaus, Toronto). We WILL be at the venue waiting for your arrival prior to the start of the event. We will not be mailing any of the tickets out of province. Sorry Non-GTAers
2) We absolutely must have a means to CONTACT you. If you are following us on Tumblr, make sure your ask box is on, or that there is some way to reach you. Otherwise, we can’t let you know that you’ve won (Which would suck cause we’d have two extra tickets just sitting around D:)

Just think… Statistically (Yes, I’m asian. I like stats), you’re WAY better off attempting to be an artist/musician and gaining popularity, then gaining popularity as a DJ at your local club. Don’t get me wrong, there have been DJ celebrities in the past (AM, Jazzy Jeff, etc.), but the ones that make it to the top and really stand out from the rest, aren’t the ones in it for the fame or fortune, they are the ones with the driving passion to create art, or the ones with an unfounded love and appreciation for playing music.
My father once said, “Music is the language of your soul”. Let music define who you are. If you are a Rocker at heart, then listen to Rock Music. If you are a Classical kind of guy, then fuck… Listen to Classical shit. Don’t try to force yourself to listen to garbage your mind,body, and soul DONT want to listen to. Same principle apply to DJs. If you want to be a good DJ, find music that speaks to your soul. If your listening to something, and you feel like bouncing/moving/dancing at any point, take note!
You will come to realize that mixing together music you enjoy comes a lot easier, and often time, sounds a lot better than if you were to force yourself to do otherwise.
